Sesame Tofu with Broccoli
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 20 min
Total Time: 35 min
Yield: 3-4 servings
INGREDIENTS:
For the tofu
1 block (12-16 oz) extra firm tofu
1 tbsp avocado oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp brown sugar or sugar substitute
2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
2 tbsp chili oil
For the broccoli
2 cups broccoli florrets
2 cups water
¼ cup rice vinegar
pinch of sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Slice extra firm tofu into ½" cubes.
In a large non-stick skillet, heat avocado oil on high.
Add in tofu. Flip occasionally and cook until golden brown.
While tofu is cooking, steam the broccoli. Combine water and rice vinegar in a small saucepan with a steamer basket and bring to a boil. Add the broccoli to the steamer basket and cook for 5-6 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Once the tofu is golden brown, drizzle sauce over tofu, add sesame seeds, and toss to combine.
Add in the broccoli and gently toss to combine. Remove from heat and drizzle on chili oil for serving. Enjoy!
